Here is Ana tap, tap, tapping her feet pretending to be Elmo in his "happy tapping with Elmo" skit that she watched with Addy on their visit here.
It took me a week to figure out what she was doing...It wasn't until she started stating "Elmo" over and over again while moving her feet. So, now I know and Ana CRACKS up when I start singing the song to her while she taps.
She has the "shuffle" down. Next step is the "ball change". Maybe she'll take after mommy and want to be in dance!
Since Addy left Ana also walks around the house asking so politely "wideo peese Mama?"
Therefore I have to admit it, after the tapping excitement and polite asking, I broke down and bought the girl 2 videos...something I SWORE I'd never do....1 Elmo and 1 Little Einstein. I just couldn't resist.
Last night we tried them out while I was cooking dinner. DEADLY...I got so much done. I think I'll have to monitor MYSELF for how much of it I allow. She was 100% captivated, so much that when Daddy walked in she didn't even give him the time of day. NOT GOOD!

WOW!!! Big news in the Toson household!! I am now a believer that there are good valuable lessons that children can take away from vidoes. Of course it is easy to put your child in front of the TV for selfish reasons, but the things Sam has learned from them, crack us up. ENJOY them, it's okay, heck, it may come as a little help when the baby comes:)
Funny that you wrote about tv...I've been thinking about you and wondering if things would change when you join the "two under two" club! My guys are Sesame Street addicts. They watch 15-20 minutes or so while I get their breakfast ready in the morning. I stopped feeling guilty when they started transfering some of the concepts into everyday life. They also dance whenever there is music. I hate to endorse a specific video, but if you can find the 25th Musical Celebration DVD - it's good. Brian and I were more interested the first time we watched it because it's all old school Sesame Street skits. I was shocked I still remembered the words to many of the songs!
Nora is also a Sesame Street fan. Since she wakes up at the butt crack of dawn to eat her banana (mana) and milk, she gets to see the whole thing starting at 6:00. She also dances and sings along with many of the songs.
Anyone else's child sing "la-la-la-la" when Big Bird sings the "Journey to Ernie" song??? I just about died from laughter when one of the boys (can't remember who) sang along with Big Bird.
If you ever think about buying another one (I was COMPLETELY against them at one point too) go for Leapfrog's Letter Factory. At age 2, Jackson knows more letters and sounds than some of our 5 and 6 year olds at school.
