Amazing "new" swing

Our last 12 hours....

5:00 PM... the time Baby Emily started crying, no screaming, inconsolably 
8:00 PM... the time Baby Emily calmed and went to bed
8:30 PM... the time Ana and Taylor went to bed
9:30 PM ... the time Daddy and Mommy CRASHED
12:30 AM... the time Baby Emily woke up (note the 3 hour sleep window for yours truly and loving spouse who has been tag teaming all night)
5:15 AM ... THE TIME BABY EMILY FINALLY FELL ASLEEP, in the car driving with mommy to the nearest 5:00 AM McDonald's for a desperation coffee in hopes that it will bring inner strength to get through the day.


(Note: Last night followed an approximation of the exact same schedule, less the desperation drive... looks like Baby E is finally falling into some sort of schedule... should I cry or laugh- I think in my manic state I may just do both.)

A shout goes out to Ana and Taylor, who through this all, remain happy and helpful big sisters!!!!!!  They never cease to amaze me.

Girls just want to have fun

Maia, our cousin/summer mommy's helper, and I took all three girls to an indoor water park this week while daddy was out of town. Man did we have fun- even Emi!!!!! She LOVED swimming and watching all the waterworks- didn't even flinch when kids would splash her.

For the first time since Emi joined us Daddy is out of town. A situation like this calls for help from every angle, especially big sisters and the Baby Bjorn... Oh, and don't forget LARGE amounts of BOLD dark roast coffee!!!!

This summer Ana has another round of vision therapy every Monday night. That means Emi, Tay and I, along with cousin Maia (our summer mommy's helper) have an hour each week to hang out and play in the waiting room.

Here Tay is spending some quality time with baby sister Emily while I'm in therapy with Ana. Never fear, Maia is right next to Tay making sure all goes well!

Our local neighborhood park has a river running through it- a HUGE selling point for us. The girls love to explore in the water. This week they went with some friends and came home with new pets: CRAWFISH!!!! Eeeeeekkkk!!!!!

Emi has been getting consistently more "fussy". I just got this tummy band in the mail and it worked immediately. Wow. I haven't seen her this peaceful in over a week. Now, let's hope it has the same effect at 2:00 AM.

So.... We tried to have Emily sleep without a pacifier last night- she cried for 3 hours straight!!!! Yikes!

The problem is that it falls out when she falls into a nice peaceful sleep and then she wakes up screaming because she needs the pacifier. Its a viscous loop- the same one we struggled with Tay for three years over... I'm not about to go three years holding a pacifier in baby #3's mouth.

(don't be scared or tempted to call me in- I was right there... tempting though, isn't it!!!!! ;) )
